If seat belts are not appropriate for the majority of the people sitting in the back seat (children), wouldn't it make more sense to redesign the seat belts a substitute alternatively of requiring an extra piece of equipment that is dependent on whether or not it is installed correctly?
By today's standards, I would have been in a booster seat until at the end of the day High School. For that matter, lap belts don't even fit me right, even though I am average height & weight.
Not in the least.
If I was light-headed enough to use a booster seat myself, I would - and I'm 30.
Safety shouldn't have an age limit on it.
We are contemporary to England and we are taking our 18 mo twins. What are the restrictions with car seats and taxis or buses. We will not be using them on the airplane, but was wondering if there was any way around not fetching them as it will be a lot to carrywitht he luggage and the boys and then 2 car seats as well. Does anyone know the restrictions in England
As a matter of fact, at 18 months old they need to be in their car seats on the plane. So you should absolutely take their seats with you. Using GoGoKidz attachments will arise their car seats into strollers, and you can sit the kids in them and wheel them through the airport. Alternatively, you could also strap them to a luggage cart.
No pith what the laws of the land are in England, the laws of physics are the same no matter where you go. Your babies will be hurt just as much in taxies/buses as in fortnightly vehicles, and they will be hurt whether in the US in taxies/buses or in England in taxies/Buses. The law really is not the most important emanation.
You aren't required to, but its a really good idea to take one. Kids do better when they have their seat on the plane, same as in the car. They are less likely to pauperism to run around and such since they are used to being put in a car seat whenever traveling. And believe it are not, they are safer. Should turbulence happen, they are less likely to be injured or scared. Have you ever heard how skein of geese attendants refer to lap babies? They call them MISSILES!!! because that's what they become in turbulence. They give the count as 170pax, 3 missiles. I wouldn't fancy my baby being a missile to save me convenience of carrying seats.
On that note, remember too, that it is better NOT to inspection car seats as luggage. Think of how your luggage gets banged around - well, if your car seat gets banged around, it is no longer out of harm's way to use. A car seat is only made to withstand being dropped/in an accident once! And if it gets dropped and you don't know about it, you unwittingly put your child in danger. Less ill all around to take the seat on the plane.
And the airline is very unlikely to replace the seat if they do damage it. Just check to make sure that your car seat is FAA approved for aircraft use, should say so somewhere on a portray on the seat.
My son is at the max strain and height for his convertible car seat (40in tall and 40lbs), but not quite 4yrs old. He is happy in his car seat, and I would personally prefer him to stay in the car seat for added protection. However, I don't want to put him in danger by keeping him in a car seat that he has surpassed the maximum weight and height restrictions. Can he still benefit from the added keeping of his car seat, or is it time to use a booster seat?
my daughter well-grounded explained it to me the other day. Our grandson is not 40 pounds yet so he is staying in his car seat he has to stay there until he is 40 pounds. But after that he is going in his booster seat until he is 85 pounds again. Age has nothing to do with it. It depends on the moment
