Ive been looking for A measure for A baby car seat cover. im tired of the one that we have now and would like to make my own. Plus it would be nice to switch them out when the other gets dirty.

I'm unfailing there are patterns out there on the internet, but you should not use them. You can not make a cover exactly like the one that has already been crash tested with your car seat, so you can not guarantee it will perform the same in a run. Sound silly? Its not. Its not only the actual seat that are crash tested, but the covers, too.

Why? B/c the covers have to meet certain flammability regulations. This is influential to make sure rescuers have as much time as possible to rescue your child before their seat bursts into flames.
Why? B/c if the harness slots on the cover do not obtain up exactly right with the harness slots on the seat, it can interfere with how the harness fits your child, which interferes with it doing its job.
Why? B/c the cover is boom tested being a very specific thickness, and any more or less affects how it compresses in a crash, which affects how tightly the harness holds your kid in.'

It sounds small, but it IS a big deal. If you want a new cover, spare cover, or just a different cover, go to the car seat manufacturer website, or call the purchaser service # and you can order one made specifically for your seat that has already been crash tested with the seat and meets all safety standards.

I conceive of you can find such patterns in pattern books at sewing shops. Kwik Sew had one awhile back.

The covers with the openings for their dab heads that you can cover. I hope that explains it well enough.
Not necessarily a car seat, but for my carrier, it doubles as a car seat so I use that terminology for it. I see them all the time in the winter when people operate c misbehave their baby into places.

How do I make / buy a baby car seat cover that I can take off to wash without taking off all the straps?

You actually can't. The straps need to go through the cover so you can have access to them. If you had a cover that didn't need the straps threaded through, it would cover up the straps. You shouldn't detect any alterations to your car seat, including alterations to the cover.
