Give me reviews about the graco nautilus car seat. Is it a good one to buy?

Its a Excessive seat - especially for the price. Harnesses to 65lbs, then becomes a great booster. If your child is over 2 years old, or over 30-35lbs, then it makes a glaring seat. If your child is under 2 or less than 30-35lbs, he needs to still be rear facing, and then the Nautilus is not the choice for you b/c it is forward facing only. A excel option would be the Evenflo Triumph Advance for the same price.

Turning kids forward at 20lbs/1year is an outdated exercise that could cost you your child's life!
1)A forward-facing child under 2 years old is 5 times more likely to be killed or candidly injured in a crash than a rear-facing child of the same age.
2)A child's vertabrae do not fully fuse until 3-6 years old, before then, she is at loyal risk for internal decapitation. The spinal column can stretch up to 2 inches in a crash BUT the spinal line can only stretch up to 1/4 inch before it snaps and baby is gone.
3)Current research suggests that children under the age of two years are 75 percent less qualified to die or be seriously injured when they are riding rear facing.
4)In a recent article from Injury Prevention, it was found that the odds of iron-handed injury to forward facing children age 12-23 months old was 5.32 times higher than a put up facing child. (Car Safety Seats For Children: Rear Facing For Best Protection; Mischief Prevention 2007; 13:398-402.)

It works this way: when you get in an accident and run into something, the car stop suddently, but everything and everyone in the car keeps moving in the direction the car was moving when it stopped, in most accidents, this is back. So in an accident with a child in a forward facing seat, his head, the heaviest part of the body on babies and toddlers, flies into consideration very forcefully and easily snaps. If that same child is in a rear facing seat, his head tries to fly forward but is supported by the back of the cultivate facing seat, so there is no stress put on the child's neck and spine.

There are, however, lots of cases where children have been killed and badly injured where a rear facing seat would have protected them better.

Asking this again...any reviews on the Recaro Como Convertible car seat?

I ordered one off ebay but it hasn't terminate yet. Any owners of this seat can you tell me what your experience has been? I have considered the Britax seats but money is a factor so we wanted to try out the Recaro seats for their protection rating as well as better price....any input here?

We lover our Como : ) And so doesn't our daughter. She is almost 1, and is probably around 20lbs, so she is very petite. We have it installed rear-fa, and will continue RF for as long as possible. She seems to like the seat a lot!

When we first got it, the SIP head wings were a little difficult to get positioned without the straps being above her shoulders. I eventually got it to fit well after messing with it for a while.

Just make sure before you install it you put your little one in the seat and adjust the straps and what not. I hope you have her hindquarters-facing still! Good luck!
