Will beauty products with cedar in them harm guinea pigs?
My boyfriend has been raving about this leave in hair oil that she got off of ebay, apparently it's homemade. I really want to try it, the only thing that's stopping me is the the score that every one of the formulas all contain cedar oil. I have three guinea pigs and I know that cedar bedding is toxic to them and can cause respiratory problems. I'm doubtlessly being absolutely ridiculous but I just want to be sure -- if I use, lets say a LOT of cedar oil on my hair and then hold or flirt with my guinea pigs for a very long time will it have any of the same effects on my pigs as cedar bedding would? I *know* it's a dumb examine but I'd really appreciate reassurance.

Considering the fact that people have been keeping small animals caged up for their entire (shorter than typical) lives in cedar/pine since the 50's, I would say a little bit here and there could only do so much damage. Sure it isn't ideal for them to be exposed at all, but if you like the effect so much, don't worry yourself. For one thing, the actual product probably doesn't contain nearly as much cedar as is in actual cedar bedding. And if you a moment ago want to be on the safe side, sdjust to holding your piggies away from your hair, or just tie it up.

HELP??? Looking for correct procedures and products to paint porch and seal cedar decking?
We press washed the entire porch last weekend to remove mildew from the white painted surface of the posts and railings and also to unsullied the sealed surface of the cedar porch floor.
During the pressure washing process, we removed a couple areas of the creamy paint and even a couple areas of wood. Before moisture gets into the wood, I'd like to repair the areas where we weren't so temperate with the pressure washer, repaint the posts and railings and seal the cedar floor of the porch. All of this, hopefully, without having to sand everything.
Should I use a wood putty or caulking to straight the holes on the railings? Product recommendations??
Should I use a specific kind of paint to make sure it adheres to the already painted fa as well as the repaired areas?
Easy product to use for sealing the cedar??
Best sequence of activities....segment, paint railings, seal floor?
I'm going for best quality... meaning.... I don't scantiness to do this every year.

first you will have to admit the wood to dry.before painting you will have to lightly sand the previosly painted area to allow the new paint to adhere.renovation/replace any areas needed.prep rails and posts for painting and lastly seal the decking.one of the win out over sealent out there is a product called cuponol.i have used it many times on a variety of material and have never been dissapointed.a artifact like thompsons water seal has to be applied yearly,so i would stay away from that.good fluke
What type of wood has a texture similar to cedar wood?
I'm difficult to find possible lumber choices for a post to mount a cedar product, and I want it to blend well.
For a put, you are limited on good chices.
