Maxi-Cosi car seat. When do i need to take the seat insert for newborns out?
Jan 15, 2009 by mizzkayd | Posted in Safety
I have the Maxi-Cosi car seat and am wondering when i necessity to take the newborn seat insert out. Is it when baby can sit up or just when it seems to get a bit small?
Many thanks in advance.
Yes it came with the maxi-cosi and is part of the car seat.
thx
Is this an broadside that came with the seat? If not it should never have been used. Anything added to a carseat was not safety tested with your carseat. It can effect the way it protects your nipper and may void your carseat's warrentee: http://www.cpsafety.com/articles/aftermarket.aspx
If it did come with your seat you can still take it out whenever you are complacent doing so. It isn't a necessary part of a carseat... it just makes the baby more 'comfy' when he or she can't hold up their conduct on their own.
Here is more on this from this website: http://www.cpsafety.com/articles/infantshop.aspx
"Head cushion/stay - Many people prefer to have these for their newborns, hoping that it'll help keep their child's head from flopping around. However, unless it comes with the seat, it isn't tried to use one. Only the ones that come in the seat have been crash tested and will not be a problem in a crash. If it doesn’t come in the seat, it can compress enough that your teenager could be ejected from the seat. If it is important for you to have this, look for a seat that is sold with the head support, which should match the fabric of the seat cushion. The other election is to use a rolled receiving blanket that does not go under baby or interfere with the straps at all. "

How do I refit the Maxi-Cosi Cabriofix car seat cover after washing?
Feb 05, 2009 by LEIGH B | Posted in Parenting
I have infatuated the cover off the Maxi-Cosi Cabriofix car seat as I smells as if my cats have wee'd on it. However, I am not sure about refitting it, in particular the strap parts. Any ideas?
Here are the instructions (a concatenate to a page where you can download the full manual is below - you may want to start at maxi-cosi.com and select your own country just in case there are any differences - the relationship is for the UK version.) Sorry, if you already have the instruction manual, this probably doesn't help.
The company also have some videos on YouTube eg http://www.google.co.nz/url?sa=t&rise=web&ct=res&cd=5&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D95l6lgA8xI4&ei=oyaLSe_HJpHItQOB-4ysBg&usg=AFQjCNHHNhH1KycWjaZ0QqgFy3-Yx2mNmA&sig2=r57yZDb8vcAHgPymwFPHuA) it may avoid to watch it to see if you can pick up some clues about where the straps should go through (I checked, and it didn't show fitting the cover, sorry :-))
